The project Plaça Major — Public Space, Heritage, Housing and Urban Life has been nominated for the EU Mies Awards, one of the leading European recognitions in the field of contemporary architecture.

Developed by Guillem Moliner, Eduard Callís, Clàudia Calvet, Pep de Solà-Morales and Quim Domene, the proposal presents an intervention that understands heritage not as an isolated element, but as an active urban infrastructure capable of accommodating housing, public space and everyday life.

The project stands out for its balance between memory and contemporary use, advocating an architecture that reinforces urban continuity and strengthens the relationship with the community through a sensitive, rigorous approach free from superfluous gestures.

The nomination for the EU Mies Awards recognises this commitment to the collective value of the built environment and places the project within the European debate on how to intervene in historical contexts through contemporary architecture.

CERCLE GESPROMAT took part in the Taules per la Inclusió solidarity dinner, organised by AMPANS at the new La Parada residential facility, located in the Manresa neighbourhood and designed by RCR Arquitectes (Aranda Pigem Vilalta). It was an emotional and meaningful evening that brought together organisations, companies and individuals committed to building a more inclusive and supportive society.

At CERCLE GESPROMAT, we have had the opportunity to support AMPANS in the construction of this new residential facility, a project that highlights the role of architecture as a tool for social transformation. La Parada is a building designed for supported living with freedom: a space where design serves care, community and dignity.

Our involvement aimed to ensure that the construction process reflected the social and human value of the project, safeguarding technical quality and coherence with the vision of AMPANS and the architectural team.

On Tuesday, 15 July at 7:00 pm, the renowned architect Kazuyo Sejima—2010 Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate and co-founder of SANAA—will deliver a public lecture at the Pati de l’Hospici in Olot, as part of the RCR PROGRAMA OBERT 2025 – ATMÒSFERES.

The event, presented by Guim Costa i Calsamiglia, Dean of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC), forms part of the official Catalonia–Japan 2024 programme, promoted by the Government of Catalonia and the Consulate General of Japan in Barcelona.

CERCLE GESPROMAT participates as a collaborating entity in this initiative, reaffirming its commitment to the dissemination of architectural thought and to projects that connect culture, territory and innovation.

The Casa entre Pal·lis project, located in Vilablareix and designed by the studio Un Parell d’Arquitectes, has been selected for the 2021 FAD Architecture Awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the architectural sector at Iberian level.

The jury highlighted its capacity for integration with the agricultural landscape, the clarity of its structural approach and the careful use of materials, which together shape a contemporary architecture rooted in place and respectful of its context.

CERCLE GESPROMAT participated as project manager and construction execution supervisor, contributing technical rigour and full control of the construction process, in close collaboration with the architectural team.

This selection highlights the value of close collaboration between the technical team and the architecture studio, a cornerstone of CERCLE GESPROMAT’s work on singular projects that bring together design excellence and construction precision.

The VILAWATT project, promoted by the Viladecans City Council with the support of the European Union, was recognised as one of the 25 most innovative initiatives on the continent at the RegioStars Awards 2020, which highlight exemplary European projects in regional development.

Selected in the category “Citizen engagement for cohesive European cities”, VILAWATT represents a new model of energy management based on public–private collaboration and the direct involvement of citizens.

The VILAWATT project, promoted by the Viladecans City Council with the support of the European Union, has been selected to lead the transfer network of innovative projects promoted by the URBACT and Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) programmes. Over the next two years, its model will be replicated in Trikala (Greece), Seraing (Belgium) and Nagykanizsa (Hungary).

This recognition consolidates VILAWATT’s role as a European benchmark in local energy transition, following its distinction in 2020 as one of the five best EU projects at the RegioStars Awards.

The VILAWATT project takes a further step forward with the start of energy retrofit works on three buildings in the Montserratina neighbourhood, conceived as pilot experiences to demonstrate the potential of deep energy renovations within the city’s existing building stock.

CERCLE GESPROMAT has taken part in the technical and strategic coordination of the process, from drafting the guidelines for the selection of the “demo” buildings to providing legal, technical and economic advice to both the Viladecans City Council and the homeowners’ associations.

CERCLE GESPROMAT was the company responsible for the deployment and commissioning of the office of Viladecans’ new energy company, created within the framework of the European VILAWATT project with the aim of leading the local energy transition.

This office acts as an information and energy management hub for citizens, businesses and retailers, offering the possibility of contracting 100% renewable energy supply through a collaboration with AURA ENERGIA.

The new energy company, structured through a consortium between the Viladecans City Council and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB), plans to progressively incorporate civic organisations and professional stakeholders in order to consolidate a shared and participatory governance model.

The launch of this office represents a decisive step towards a proximity-based energy model and citizen collaboration, where public and private management complement each other to generate trust, efficiency and genuine sustainability.

CERCLE GESPROMAT ha estat seleccionada per assumir les tasques de Project Management en el projecte de rehabilitació integral del Bloc dels Pescadors, conjunt d’edificis catalogats com a bé d’interès urbanístic i una de les peces més singulars del teixit històric de la Barceloneta.

L’encàrrec preveu el desenvolupament d’un pla de coordinació tècnica, econòmica i social que garanteixi la viabilitat de les actuacions i l’acompanyament als promotors i comunitats de veïns al llarg del procés.

El projecte inclou la rehabilitació de façanes, cobertes i elements comunitaris, amb l’objectiu de millorar l’eficiència energètica i la qualitat de vida dels residents, preservant alhora el valor patrimonial de l’edifici.

Amb aquesta nova col·laboració, CERCLE GESPROMAT reafirma el seu compromís amb la rehabilitació responsable del patrimoni urbà i amb projectes que combinen viabilitat tècnica i cohesió social.
