Comprehensive rehabilitation of a distinctive dwelling on the Costa Brava, combining heritage preservation, contemporary comfort and harmony with the surrounding landscape.
El projecte afrontava el desafiament de recuperar i actualitzar una edificaciĆ³ existent amb un alt valor arquitectĆ²nic i emocional, mantenint-ne la identitat original. Lāobjectiu era conservar la volumetria i lāestructura de la casa, incorporant millores tĆØcniques i de confort que permetessin adaptar-la als estĆ ndards actuals sense perdre el seu carĆ cter mediterrani.
The intervention combines restoration and modernisation with a respectful approach. Structural elements were reinforced and the roof was fully renewed, faithfully reconstructing the perimeter balustrade with architectural concrete balusters.
Inside, high-efficiency systems have been integratedāaerothermal energy with underfloor heating, home automation for climate and lighting control, and an integrated sound systemāproviding comfort and functionality without altering the essence of the home.
The selected materialsāwhite stucco, natural stone, ceramic and woodādialogue with the coloured renders and iroko wood joinery of the faƧades, creating a balanced and coherent whole. Landscaping and exterior adaptation works further strengthen the connection with the surroundings, integrating the house into the natural landscape of Begur.
