A residence that transforms the way of living, where architecture, nature and care intertwine to dignify life.
In the La Parada district of Manresa, a unique project is taking shape, promoted by AMPANS and conceived through the sensitive vision of RCR Arquitectes. A new residence for people with functional diversity and support needs that goes beyond the traditional concept of an institutional care facility to become a new way of living with dignity and freedom.
The main challenge has been to transform this vision into a built reality, respecting the social sensitivity that drives it while ensuring technically flawless execution for a project of great architectural and structural complexity.
With a linear length of 150 metres, the building is conceived as a life journey. Changes in level, terraces and louvers articulate a sequence of spaces that encourage intimacy, interaction and freedom of movement, avoiding hierarchies and architectural boundaries. The entire building becomes garden, home and community: an environment that welcomes, cares and connects.
RCR Arquitectes proposes an architecture that defends beauty as a right and fragility as a value, where light, materials and the relationship with the topography create an atmosphere of calm and humanity.
From a technical perspective, the project resolves a hybrid construction system combining concrete and steel structures through Halfen connectors, which allow both systems to be precisely separated, avoiding thermal bridges while ensuring structural stability and independent expansion movements.
Metal flooring with exposed corrugated profiles and continuous finishes without visible joints require meticulous execution and extremely close coordination between contractors. Outside, the integration of trees crossing terraces and façades required highly specific architectural and structural solutions, making nature a living part of the building.
All of this demanded a high level of detail, very precise management of the construction process, and a clear commitment to preserving the architectural quality and material sensitivity envisioned from the outset in the project by RCR Arquitectes.
This project stands out not only for its architectural quality, but also for the profound impact it generates: an exemplary collaboration between design, social commitment and demanding technical management.
