A dwelling selected for the 2021 FAD Architecture Awards that explores the relationship between architecture, light and climate through a lightweight and adaptable structure.
The project stems from the intention to create a contemporary home capable of adapting to Girona’s climate and urban landscape. The challenge was to design a functional and efficient house that, through formal simplicity, could achieve a high level of environmental comfort and architectural expressiveness.
Casa entre Pal·lis is organised over two floors, with spaces defined by a lightweight metal structure and retractable awnings that regulate light and interior temperature. This constructive solution improves the building’s climatic performance and allows for a changing relationship with the exterior.
The geometry and arrangement of the openings create visual interactions that allow one to “see the house itself from within”, offering different qualities of light throughout the day. The result is an essential, dynamic and liveable architecture that combines technical precision with poetic sensitivity.
At CERCLE GESPROMAT, we provided technical support and executive coordination throughout the development of the works, ensuring an execution faithful to the architectural concept and to the efficiency standards proposed by the authors.
Our contribution helped guarantee the construction quality, technical feasibility and material coherence of a project recognised for its innovative character and its ability to reinterpret contemporary housing with intelligence and sensitivity.
