A sustainable expansion of a production plant in the heart of the Montseny, where industrial efficiency and landscape-oriented architecture coexist in balance.
The expansion project of the Liquats Vegetals production plant in Viladrau addressed a dual requirement: responding to the needs of a growing food industry while preserving the natural and visual identity of the Montseny landscape. Integrating large-scale production volumes within an environment of high ecological value represented a top-level technical and environmental challenge.
The intervention was structured in two main phases: the construction of a new packaging and logistics building—with four floors housing loading docks, an automated warehouse, packaging lines, laboratories and technical areas—and an intelligent warehouse dedicated to cardboard reels.
Connectivity with the existing factory was resolved through a glazed metal footbridge and an underground gallery for the mechanical transfer of products. The project also incorporated optimised circulation systems, the reuse of clean, grey and industrial water, and a comprehensive reforestation of the riverbank and the surrounding areas of the plant.
The architecture combines pure geometric forms with natural materials—precast concrete, granite stone, green roofs and vegetated façades—achieving full integration with the landscape and reinforcing the company’s environmental commitment.
At CERCLE GESPROMAT, we participated in the comprehensive management and coordination of the project, ensuring coherence between technical requirements, sustainability objectives and construction quality.
Our work ensured that each phase—from planning to execution—was carried out with control, foresight and respect for the environment, turning the Liquats Vegetals expansion into a benchmark for the balance between industrial performance, responsible architecture and environmental commitment.
